We held our first mermaid experience as a one-off event in February 2019, but it proved so popular that it’s now back by crowd-pleasing demand!
Mermaid experiences offer children a taste of what it’s like to be a ‘real, live’ mermaid. They start by learning some basic leg and arm techniques to ensure they’re safe in the water. By the end of the lesson they’ll be able to swim with a specially designed fin and tail – we supply all the equipment needed for the sessions.* There are three distinct stages within the Academy, so children can progress to more advanced mermaiding tricks and techniques after they’ve covered the basics. The sessions start with Mermaid Experience, followed by Mermaid Improver and Mermaid Advanced.
Although the emphasis is on fun and laughter, Mermaid Academy actually teaches children some important swimming skills as well. It’s excellent for learning the butterfly stroke, as well as holding your breath, working the stomach muscles and all-round fitness. Our teachers hold nationally recognised qualifications for mermaid swimming.
Our mermaiding classes generally run during the school holidays and we also offer Mermaid Party events for group bookings: call 0238 0614 078 or leave a message on our enquiry form and we’ll be back in touch with more information.
